How are we going to reach our goals in 2009?
Last week we looked at the awesome responsibility we have in leading people to the throne each and every Sunday. We talked about recommitting ourselves in our walk with Christ, our worship leadership, our Wednesday rehearsals and Sunday morning worship. That is a great place to start, but what will this require from you?
A lot of work!!!!! Proverbs 13:19 states “a longing fulfilled is sweet to the soul, but fools detest turning from evil.” The New King James states it like this: “A desire accomplished is sweet to the soul, but it is an abomination to fools to depart from evil.” In other words when a dream is finally realized, it is awesome. We all have dreams for ourselves, our family, our work, and our church. Will any of these dreams come to realization if no commitment or work is put into it? I think not. The scripture is very clear in the second part of Proverbs 13:19 when it basically says that it is the fool who doesn’t depart from evil. A fool will never see a dream fulfilled because the fool will never work for it.
I have many dreams for us here at FBC Canton. I have a dream to see us become one of the premier worship choirs in Georgia. I have a dream that when people hear us they will hear directly from God. I have a dream that we will be able to touch this globe with our music. I have a dream that lives will be changed through our ministry. This will not happen on its own. It will not happen if we sit back and relax and just expect it to be done just because we are the worship choir and orchestra at THE FIRST BAPTIST CHURCH. It is going to take a lot of work from me and from you to see this dream fulfilled. Are you going to do what it takes to get the job done? By the way, we will never be done. I believe with all my heart that once we start seeing God fulfill these dreams, He will give us a new dream. Will you join me in this awesome task?
Aaron, what a great opening post. Keep up the great work!
